Grandmother takes discarded bag home, finds 40,000 meth pills

A grandmother had quite a shock after taking home a pink bag she found by the roadside in Buri Ram.

Thawee Singwong, 60, told police that she and her four-year-old grandson spotted the bag by a main road in Ban Song Phi Nong village, Tambon Sadao, Song Phi Nong district on Sunday evening. The woman said she and her grandson were herding their water buffaloes back home when the boy spotted the bag and told her he wanted it. She said he dragged it home and when they opened it they found it was stuffed with 40,000 methamphetamine pills.

The woman then called police, who took her back to the spot where she had found the bag, which officers seized as evidence. NT – EP
