Fulham has reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign midfielder Emile Smith Rowe for an initial fee of £27 million, with potential add-ons amounting to an additional £7 million. This marks a club record transfer for Fulham.
The add-ons included in the deal are reportedly linked to Cup and European successes for the Cottagers. Smith Rowe, 23, has not participated in Arsenal’s last two pre-season matches as the transfer was finalized.
An academy graduate and a fan favorite, Smith Rowe has seen his first-team opportunities diminish at Arsenal, now finding himself behind Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Bukayo Saka in the lineup. He has earned three caps for the England national team, with his most recent appearance in 2022.
In conjunction with this transfer news, Arsenal has signed Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a fee potentially reaching £42 million.
