A former village head in Trat’s Khao Saming district, reportedly suffering from depression, killed himself with a shotgun late Sunday night, police said.
Khao Saming police were summoned at 11.30pm to the home of Sunisa Kamnerdsin, 62, in Moo 6, Tambon Khao Saming.
Her brother, Prasert Kamnerdsin, 59, was found in a second-floor bedroom with a shotgun alongside him.
Sunisa told police her brother struggled with depression, to the point he had to resign as village head, and was consulting doctors.
She explained that he lived next door and came over for dinner every day. She had no idea he’d gone upstairs to her bedroom, where her husband’s shotgun was kept.
