Immigration Police are intensifying efforts to combat foreign nationals who enter the country to beg. In a recent operation, seven individuals from Jordan were arrested for targeting tourists and requesting additional money even after receiving some.
The suspects entered Thailand on tourist visas, some of which had exceeded the legal duration of stay. They will now face deportation and potential blacklisting.
In another case involving Chinese beggars, financial transactions revealed that the alms they received were exchanged for Chinese yuan and transferred to their bank accounts. However, no evidence of an organized network has been found during the investigation so far.
