Fatal Collision in Nakhon Ratchasima: Mercedes-Benz Crashes into Truck, Igniting Fire
A devastating accident occurred in the early hours of February 17 when a Mercedes-Benz crashed into the rear of a 10-wheel truck at the Nakhon Ratchasima multi-level intersection (Pak Thong Chai flyover). The collision resulted in a fire that engulfed the truck, which was carrying recycled paper waste.
Pho Klang Police Station officers arrived at the scene at approximately 4:30 AM. Firefighters battled the blaze for 20 minutes before bringing it under control, but the wreckage of the Mercedes-Benz remained wedged beneath the truck. Rescue workers spent several hours extracting the car and recovering the body of one deceased victim trapped inside. A large crane was required to lift the vehicle from under the truck.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. The incident has raised concerns over road safety, especially on high-speed routes prone to severe accidents.
