Enforced isolation

The number of people and vehicles on the streets of Bangkok has declined considerably after the government closed places of public outings, such as cinemas and malls, to prevent people from contracting Covid-19.

As of April 11, the closures have been effective for 20 days, while the curfew from 10pm to 4am has been in force for a week.

Although new Covid-19 cases have slowed, people have been urged to be cautious and continue to heed the prescribed preventive measures strictly.

Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Saturday (April 11) that the total number of Covid-19 patients in Thailand rose to 2,518 with 45 new cases confirmed over a 24-hour period, and two more deaths.
