Electrician dies at agogo bar on Walking Street

A tragic accident unfolded at a popular bar in Pattaya when a 32-year-old electrician was electrocuted while trying to repair a ceiling fan at an agogo bar on Walking Street on November 21.

At around 7:06 PM, the Pattaya rescue team was alerted to the scene. Upon arrival, they encountered a group of tourists and a visibly distraught woman, 38-year-old Rangsiya (surname withheld), who was crying uncontrollably. She explained to the rescue workers that her husband, Phayom Damrong, had been electrocuted while fixing the ceiling fan.

Rescue workers found Phayom’s lifeless body suspended near the ceiling by the entrance of the bar. It took more than 30 minutes to safely retrieve him, as he had become trapped in the ceiling, with live wires still leaking electricity.

Rangsiya recounted the moments leading up to the incident. Her husband had gone up to repair the fan and, before climbing up, his last words were for her to try turning the fan on. Moments later, she heard a spark, called out to him, but received no response. When she climbed up to check, she found him unconscious and immediately called for help, but it was too late.
