Digital Health Pass For Domestic Flights

A so-called Digital Health Pass will become part of the Mor Prom vaccine app so it can be used by domestic flight passengers.

Previously, people used the Public Health Ministry’s Mor Prom app to make an appointment to have a COVID-19 vaccine shot.

The app was later adjusted to only include the function of reporting adverse vaccine reactions.

Now the Mor Prom app will soon include the Digital Health Pass which will contain the user’s vaccination details and Covid status. It could be used to gain entry to certain places where people have to prove their vaccine status.

The Public Health Ministry yesterday signed an agreement with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) and the Airlines Association of Thailand (AAT) over the use of the app for flights.

Sathit Pitutecha, deputy public health minister, said the ministry is responsible for providing information for the app to function, including vaccination details, RT-PCR or ATK results and a record of disease infections.

He said with restrictions eased by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) aviation businesses are now resuming operations under a practice of universal COVID-19 prevention.

Mr Pitutecha said aviation businesses are now ready to follow new measures to help suppress the spread of COVID-19.

That was one reason why the ministry signed the three-year agreement to use the Digital Health Pass for the airline industry and its customers.

The ministry’s partners such as drug stores, hospitals and clinics should provide information to be used on Mor Prom so the ministry can update the application with relevant data, he said.

The Digital Health Pass will be used for domestic flights, and it is expected to be implemented soon.

In related news, 45 Thai workers arrested in Malaysia for illegal entry have been deported to Thailand.

One of them was infected with COVID-19. The workers returned on 3rd September via the Sadao border checkpoint in Songkhla from Malaysia’s Kedah state.
