Crystal Palace showcased a breathtaking performance, scoring four goals within the first 31 minutes to dismantle West Ham at Selhurst Park.
Michael Olise initiated the scoring by leaping above the defense to convert Joachim Andersen’s aerial pass. Shortly after, Eberechi Eze stunned fans with a sensational bicycle kick, followed by Emerson Palmieri’s own goal under pressure from Daniel Munoz. Olise then turned provider, setting up Jean-Philippe Mateta for a simple finish.
Michail Antonio pulled one back for West Ham just before halftime, but Palace’s dominance continued in the second half. Mateta added his second of the match, marking his ninth league goal this season.
Despite Tyrick Mitchell’s own goal reducing the deficit, the Eagles’ control remained unchallenged.
West Ham manager David Moyes expressed his disappointment, labeling the first-half performance as one of the worst he has witnessed in his career. The Hammers, fatigued from their midweek European fixture, struggled to compete against Palace’s relentless attack.
The partnership of Eze and Olise proved pivotal for Palace. Olise, breaking records as the youngest player involved in over 10 goals across consecutive Premier League seasons, and Eze, dazzling with his skill and creativity, left West Ham’s defense in shambles.
In contrast, West Ham’s away form continues to disappoint, with this defeat adding to their woes. Moyes’ side faces an uphill task as they prepare to host Liverpool in their next fixture.
