Chris Brown Sues Warner Bros. for $500 Million Over Docuseries

Chris Brown Sues Warner Bros. for $500 Million Over Docuseries

Singer Chris Brown is suing Warner Bros. for $500 million in response to sexual assault allegations featured in the Investigation Discovery docuseries “Chris Brown: A History of Violence.”

As reported by Variety, Brown’s lawsuit claims the producers, including Warner Bros. and Ample, have committed libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress due to defamatory statements made against him in the documentary. He asserts that the evidence used to support these claims is completely false.

“This case is about the media prioritizing profits over the truth,” the lawsuit states. “Since October 2024, Ample LLC and Warner Bros. were warned that they were promoting false information for likes, clicks, downloads, and revenue to the detriment of Chris Brown. Ultimately, on October 27, 2024, they aired ‘Chris Brown: A History of Violence’ knowing it was filled with lies and deception, violating fundamental journalistic principles.”

Warner Bros. has yet to respond to Variety’s request for comment. The lawsuit further contends that the claims made by “Jane Doe,” presented as evidence in the docuseries, have been repeatedly discredited, characterizing her as “a perpetrator of intimate partner violence.”

While the suit acknowledges that the Grammy-winning artist has made mistakes in the past—issues he addressed publicly in his 2017 documentary “Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life”—it emphasizes that he has “grown from those experiences, and his evolution speaks for itself.”
