Chinese National Arrested for Illegal Construction Work in Pattaya

PATTAYA, Thailand – Authorities in Pattaya have arrested a 50-year-old Chinese man, Mr. Chen Gaofeng, for working illegally at a construction site in the Na Jomtien area of Sattahip District.

The arrest was made through a joint operation between the Na Jomtien Police Station and Immigration Division 3. Mr. Chen was charged with “being a foreigner working without a permit or working outside the permitted scope,” a violation of Thai labor laws.

Officials found Mr. Chen supervising ongoing construction activities at a site in Soi Na Jomtien 4 without the necessary legal documentation. During interrogation, he admitted to being hired by a private company but had not applied for or obtained a valid work permit.

He was immediately taken to Na Jomtien Police Station for further legal action.

Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of following proper legal procedures for foreign nationals seeking employment in Thailand. Employers and workers alike are reminded that violations can result in arrest, fines, and deportation.
