An amorous couple had to be rescued after their car flipped over when the handbrake was knocked in the throes of passion.
The pair pulled over on what appears to be a narrow country lane in Derbyshire to enjoy some alone time yesterday evening.
They were ‘strengthening their relationship’ when they accidently knocked the handbrake of their Yaris.
The car rolled down a hill and flipped on its side, blocking the road and leaving the couple trapped.
The lovers were forced to call police to come and rescue them.
Derbyshire’s policing unit shared pictures of their antics on Twitter.
One image shows the car on its side down a secluded road, hidden away from prying eyes.
The force said: ‘At an undisclosed location in Derbyshire the couple occupying this Yaris had parked up and were strengthening their relationship.
‘Whilst doing so the handbrake has become disengaged and it rolled down a hill before flipping on its side. No injuries.’
People on social media were quick to make fun of the randy couple.
One said: ‘Please practice safe sex and leave handbrake on.’
Another quipped: ‘When I said let’s try a different position, this isn’t what I meant.’
Others were left amused at the police force’s creative choice of language.
One said: ‘Whoever came up with that one ‘strengthening their relationship’ brilliant!’
A second wrote: ‘”Strengthening their relationship” possibly the best euphemism ever.’
