Security camera footage from a residence near Tukcom South Pattaya captured a disturbing burglary that occurred on September 21. Two masked men broke into the home on two separate occasions, with one of the intruders armed with a 50 cm machete during the second break-in.
On December 3, Sunthorn, the homeowner and a fashion retailer, shared details of the incident. He had been away at the time, leaving a friend to watch over the property. The thieves stole a black shoulder bag, cash, and a wristwatch valued at 8,000 Baht. The footage shows the suspects, both men in their 40s or 50s, scaling the back fence and entering the house.
Despite filing a police report at Pattaya City Police Station, Sunthorn expressed frustration at the lack of progress in the investigation. Taking matters into his own hands, he conducted his own investigation for two days and discovered that one of the suspects is a motorbike taxi driver in the Soi Korphai area.
“If my friend had woken up while the intruder was armed, it could have been deadly,” Sunthorn commented. He released the footage to the media to raise awareness about the dangers, even in busy neighborhoods. Meanwhile, authorities have yet to capture the suspects.
