BANGKOK TOPS THE CHART AGAIN WITH THE WORST ROAD TRAFFIC CONGESTION

A survey report by the Global Traffic Scorecard, conducted by US- based transportation analytics firm Inrix, officially announced Thailand the hub of road congestion.

Thailand stood first amongst the 38 countries surveyed in 2016, with its road being the most congested; where Thai drivers spend an average of 56 hours per year stuck in traffic jams.

This figure is actually an improvement on the 61 hours as revealed in the same survey carried out in 2016.

Indonesia stood second with 51 hours followed by Columbia with 49 hours.

The 2017 survey however ranked Los Angeles as the world’s most gridlocked city, where drivers spend an average of 102 hours stuck in traffic.

Study cites 5 of the cities of United States with the worst traffic congestion.

Drivers in Paris, London, New York and San Francisco spend more time stuck in traffic as compared to Bangkok.

Statistics released on February 2018 by Inrix clarified that it analyzed data from 300 million vehicles that use Inrix powered traffic devices.

Bangkok showed the worst traffic rush during the evening in the world, even ahead of Mexico City and then Bucharest in third, which ranked third, as per TomTom, the GPS manufacturer.
