Bangkok Motor Show Gears Up for Its Largest Edition Ever
The 46th Bangkok International Motor Show is set to be the biggest yet, with 54 automakers unveiling their latest models from March 26 to April 6 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi.
Organized by Grand Prix International (GPI), this year’s event will span Challenger Halls 1-3 and Forum Hall. According to GPI’s chief of operations, Jaturon Komolmit, 41 car manufacturers and 13 motorcycle makers from Europe, the US, and Asia have confirmed their participation.
New Exhibitors and Expanding EV Presence
For the first time, brands such as Zeekr, Omoda, Jaecoo, Chery, Kinggen, Juneyao, Riddara, and Geely will showcase their latest innovations. Additionally, 9,000 square meters of Forum Hall 4 will be dedicated to electric vehicle (EV) parts and accessories from China, aiming to attract Thai distributors.
Industry Outlook and Expected Growth
Under the theme “Talk of Sensuous Automotive”, the event is projected to generate a 10% revenue increase compared to last year. However, Jaturon noted that Thailand’s automotive industry may see limited growth due to slow domestic recovery, high household debt, and global economic uncertainties.
Last year’s show recorded 53,438 car bookings and 5,173 motorcycle bookings, and organizers are optimistic about strong sales figures once again.
With an expanded lineup of exhibitors and a growing focus on EV technology, the 2024 Bangkok Motor Show is poised to be a major highlight for auto enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.
