Up to October 31st, Bangkok Airways will weigh every passenger before boarding, with the assurance that the data collected will be kept private.
The airline stated in a statement that the weighing of passengers complies with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s standards and serves to help determine the take-off weight and maintain the safety of flights.
The airline announced that the weighing will take place at the departure gate before to boarding and requested everyone’s cooperation.
Passengers on flights operated by Korean Air and Air New Zealand have already been subjected to a similar practice.
Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Laos, the Maldives, Myanmar, Singapore, and Vietnam are among the countries to which Bangkok Airways offers regular flights. Its headquarters are at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.
