Pattaya City is preparing to modernize parking management by introducing automated parking meters along Beach Road. After discussions by the Public Order and Security Committee, Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn announced plans for a trial installation to evaluate functionality and address concerns about fairness.
The trial will encompass the area from Dusit Thani Pattaya to Central Road and is intended to accommodate approximately 90 vehicles. Initially, meters will be placed on the right side of Beach Road, with a decision pending for the left side following further evaluation.
Deputy Mayor Wuthisak commented, “The shift towards automation aims to streamline parking operations and reduce the reliance on manual fee collection. Data gathered during the trial will guide future decisions regarding the potential expansion of the system across Pattaya. This initiative demonstrates Pattaya’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and enhancing convenience for residents and tourists as they navigate the bustling city streets.”
