Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Beauty Services Operated by Foreigners in Pattaya
Officials raided a popular market area in Pattaya following complaints about foreign nationals secretly operating beauty services without permits. The operation, led by the Chonburi Provincial Employment Office, Chonburi Immigration Office, and Internal Security Operations Command, targeted illegal employment activities.
During the inspection, authorities discovered that three foreign women—two from Laos and one from Cambodia—were running unauthorized beauty salons along Soi Buakhao in South Pattaya. Their services included eyelash extensions, nail treatments, and eyebrow tattoos. While most of the 28 suspected salons were legally operated by Thai nationals, these foreign workers violated Thai labor laws.
The three women were detained and taken to Pattaya City Police Station for legal proceedings. They face charges for working without proper permits under Section 8 and Section 101 of the 2017 Alien Employment Management Act. Authorities continue to monitor and enforce labor laws to prevent illegal employment in Pattaya’s beauty industry.
