Arrested for using credit card lost by Jordaian tourist

Three men were arrested yesterday, June 17 after it was found they were running up a bill on a card lost by a Jordanian tourist in Chiang Mai at the weekend.

The cardholder, Mr. Han M. Alabadi, 37 reported to police that he had lost the card at some point on Sunday but only realized that he had lost the card when he started getting alerts that someone was using it.

The three men arrested, Mr. Nantawat Sarathai, 28, Mr. Panakarn Krankaew 18 and Mr. Watcharaphon Chaiyakun, 23 used the card to make several 7-Eleven purchases as well as purchasing a 10,000 baht ring from a store at Central Airport.

Indicating that they were not particularly bright, at least one of the men is reported to be an employee at a Chiang Mai 7-Eleven as well, possibly where Alabadi lost the card to begin with.

The three men were detained in custody pending a court hearing.
