Actor Surakiat “Pan” Bunnag, who had been arrested for driving while inebriated and tried to escape by claiming his father was an Army general, issued a public apology for his behaviour on Friday (September 11).
The 27-year-old was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and negligent driving causing damages.
He also refused to undergo a breathalyser test, declaring that his father had the authority to sack every police officer at the station.
His mother later showed up to protect him, sparking anger on social media with Thai netizens blaming the actor’s bad behaviour on his upbringing.
Surakiat finally posted an apology on Instagram saying he had lost control and that his family was not rich, but just wanted to protect him. He also took full responsibility for his behaviour.
