A man was stabbed to death by his colleague behind a shopping mall in Nongprue on Saturday morning (May 25th). Lieutenant Colonel Jeerasak Abfang of the Nongprue Police was notified of the incident at 8:10 A.M. at a supermarket warehouse (Top in The Chilled) in Soi Khao Noi. Police, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team, and The Pattaya News rushed to the scene.
At the entrance of the product delivery area, rescue teams found 34-year-old Mr. Manit Lohsan unconscious, with no pulse and bleeding heavily from stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, hiding in a nearby storage room, was immediately arrested and found to have a knife in his possession. Police later identified him as 48-year-old Mr. Phawat Teangtham, also a staff member at the supermarket, who had sustained facial injuries.
Mr. Phawat claimed that Mr. Manit had initially smacked him while he was working. When he questioned Mr. Manit, he was hit again, leading Mr. Phawat to use a knife in what he claimed was self-defense. Their colleague, identified only as Mr. Thongchai, reported hearing a verbal argument before witnessing the stabbing. Other colleagues attempted to intervene but were too late.
Mr. Phawat was taken to the Nongprue Police Station for further legal action.
