Two Indian visitors drowned after allegedly ignoring red flags and no swimming warnings at Karon Beach in Mueang Phuket.
On Tuesday (August 1st), emergency personnel were called to Karon Beach at 6:45 p.m. They and the Phuket Express arrived to the beach to find red flags indicating that swimming was not permitted.
Lifeguards had already hauled two male Indian visitors from the surf onto the beach before rescue workers arrived. Both males had no pulse and were taken to adjacent hospitals before being pronounced dead. The Karon Police recognized one of them as Mr. SAGER JVGTAWAT, 31, while the second individual has yet to be formally identified by relevant authority.
According to unidentified Indian acquaintances of the two males, there were a total of eight of them who went to visit the region. Despite many warnings to keep out of the water, four of them went swimming in the sea. Strong waves dragged all four out to sea. Lifeguards escorted them back to the shore, but two of the men tragically drowned.
