74-Year-Old British Man with Paralysis Falls to His Death from Pattaya Condo
Pattaya, Thailand – A tragic incident occurred when a 74-year-old British man, who had been suffering from paralysis, fell to his death from a fourth-floor condominium in Pattaya. The Pattaya police were alerted to the scene at 10:36 PM, where they found the man’s lifeless body on the ground near the walkway of Soi Wat Boon Samphan.
Upon arriving, officers discovered the deceased, dressed only in pants, had fallen from his condo. No signs of physical assault were evident on the body, and a search of his room revealed no indications of forced entry or missing valuables. However, the man’s wheelchair was found parked near the balcony, and handprints on the balcony railing were believed to belong to the victim. Police have documented these as potential evidence.
Condo security guard, Mr. Jarunsak, 61, informed The Pattaya News that the man had lived in the condominium for an extended period and had been receiving daily care due to his paralysis. He noted that he was unaware of the circumstances leading to the fall.
The body has been transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy, and authorities are in the process of contacting the victim’s family and caregiver for further information. The deceased’s name has been withheld as authorities continue to notify his relatives and the British embassy.
Authorities urge anyone who may be feeling depressed or struggling with mental health to seek support. The Pattaya News recommends reaching out to the Samaritans of Thailand for help.
