The Royal Thai Police Operations Cente has reported that there have been 710 arrests made in a single night on those breaking the curfew.

This is the curfew that started at 22.00 on 6 May 2020 to 04.00 on 7 May 2020. Officials have searched 27,011 individuals and 20,568 vehicles with a final arrest number of 710. 612 suspects left their homes during the curfew with no valid reasoning, out of this number 104 were out for a nighttime drive, 137 were on their way back home, 208 were out to run an errand, and 234 had other reasonings.

Those breaking the curfew with no valid reasoning and document proof will be imprisoned not exceeding 2 years, or a fine not exceeding 40,000 THB, or both according to the Emergency Decree.

Ther are 9 provinces with no arrests during the night including Mukdahan Province, Sukhothai Province, Narathiwat Province, Nakhon Phanom Province, Mae Hong Son Province, Nakhon Nayok Province, Lampang Province, Nong Khai Province, and Nong Bua Lamphu Province.

Throughout the nation there was a total number of 781 people who broke the curfew, 683 broke the curfew and left their homes during the night, 612 were arrested while 71 were let go with a warning. A total of 98 persons broke the curfew in group gatherings and none were let go with a warning, this brings the total number to 710 arrests in one night.

Hopefully, other provinces can follow the example of the 9 provinces with no arrests, stay inside and avoid group gatherings, getting put in jail, or paying a hefty fine for breaking the curfew is not worth the risk.
