At 6am, on the morning of October 12, two hours of solid rain brought early morning traffic in Pattaya to a stand-still again.
Many areas remained flooded as surface water failed to drain away. In Kao Talo thirty-centimeters of water forced traffic officers to close the road and establish detour routes.
In south Pattaya the junction of Third Road and South Pattaya was also submerged in thirty-centimeters of water and traffic gridlocked the area as nothing could pass.
A combination of poor drainage and uneven road surfaces contributed to the problem.
More rain is expected for the rest of the week.
