3 injured when truck hits opposing traffic in Sattahip

Three people were hurt when a pickup truck crossed lanes and collided with a motorcycle and another truck on Highway 331.

Utain Klinchang, 29, was charged with reckless driving following the March 20 wreck opposite the Royal Thai Marine Corps’ Marine Assault Amphibious Vehicle Battalion. He suffered a severe cut to the head and was transported to Queen Sirikit Naval Medical Center.

Also taken to the same hospital were Hasan Mohamad, 41, the driver of a Ford Wildtrak, who suffered a broken arm, and motorcyclist Tavee Kampitui, 37, who required CPR at the scene due to severe injuries.

Hasan’s wife and passenger in the Ford, Napatsorn Thitipatpornwipa, 34, said they were just traveling normally on the highway when, without explanation, Utain’s Phetchabun-registered Isuzu pickup veered across the center divider into opposing traffic.
