Her Majesty Queen Sirikit

BANGKOK — Her Majesty Queen Sirikit has an inflammation in the lungs and doctors are continuing to administer antibiotics to treat the condition, the Royal Household Bureau said on Thursday.
According to the bureau’s announcement No.4, a team of doctors who are looking after her reported that on Wednesday the Queen developed a high fever, but she remained conscious. A blood test showed an increase in the number of white blood cells which indicated an inflammation.
The royal doctors advised the 84-year-old Queen to undergo further examination at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital where a chest X-ray found a lung inflammation. The medical team administered antibiotics to treat it.
On Thursday, the Queen’s fever dropped and she was able to breathe and eat well. The physicians will continue to provide antibiotics to ease the inflammation in the lungs and will
administer restorative medication later.
