Fraudsters arrested by police with help from Indians

A husband and with team have been arrested by Pattaya police, after receiving a tip off from 2 suspicious Indians.

The 2 men were approached by the couple who said that they had a fantastic opportunity for them to go and work in Canada, and that they would take care of everything for them.

The initial contact came using the mobile app service “What’s app” whilst the pair were back home in India. All seemed well at first and the though of being able to go and earn some Canadian Dollars was very tempting.

So without further delay, the 2 Indians booked up and came to Pattaya to meet 22 year old Mohammed Junaid Sharief and his Thai wife Patchanee Chokkhokkruat, 37.

The victims – Ozha Bhimkanth, 30, and Malla Ravi, 33 – were met at Suvarnbhumi and brought to South Pattaya.

There they were asked to part with 25,000 baht each to go and work in Canada. But their suspicions were aroused and on the day of the handover of funds they secretly filmed that led to the arrest of the husband and wife fraudsters.

The pair were rounded up in Sukhumvit Road Pattaya 33 yesterday with Pattaya police proudly announcing the arrests in a press briefing at the station.

The arrested pair admitted fraud, reported Tnews, who made a short video at the station to record the success.
